For over 25 years, the Wolfe Tones kept the flame of Irish patriotism alive, helping both Protestants and Catholics to find common bonds in their rich musical culture. IRISH TO THE CORE features the band at its best.

It includes pub singalongs such as "Botany Bay" and "Rock on Rockall," sung mostly in unison by all four band members, and peaceful country ballads such as "The Water Is Wide" and "Vale of Avoca." Also featured are two finely executed instrumental tracks, "Whelan's Frolics," and "Cook in the Kitchen and the Rambling Pitchfork," the latter of which features a virtuoso performance by Noel Nagle on Uilleann pipes.
