Innerpartysystem Artist Snapshot:

Dance-rock quartet Innerpartysystem had its roots in the emo band Thirteen Over Eight, which gained a local following in its native Pennsylvania. Singer Patrick Nissley and drummer Jared Piccone began experimenting with programming, and formed a new group. After recruiting Kris Barman on keys, and guitar, and Jesse Cronan on synths and samples, Innerpartysystem was born. THE DOWNLOAD, the group's 2007 EP, featured an electronica-based rock sound that owed a debt to the first Killers album. The singles "Don't Stop" and "Die Tonight, Live Forever" were released in '08, anticipating the band's full-length debut.

The debut from dance-rock outfit Innerpartysystem may be reminiscent of the Killers' first album, which isn't a bad thing at all. Hip-shaking rhythms, wiry synths, crunching guitars, and insistent hooks are woven through all 11 tracks of this self-titled first effort. Lead single "Don't Stop," with its thumping, dancefloor-filling chorus, may be the best example of the band's propulsive mojo, but "Structure" and "Everyone is the Same" are also highlights.
