Dragonforce Artist Snapshot:

British power metal act Dragonforce stand out from the pack by gilding their relentlessly brutal attack with melodies and vocals that are, at times, as poppy as anything purveyed by hair metal acts of the late 1980s and early '90s. This isn't to say that Dragonforce are softies--far from it. In fact, their sound makes for some of the most massive, blazingly precise metal of the 2000s. However, the band has a unique appreciation of the potential for melody amidst the musical chaos and scorched-earth sounds, offering a nice middle ground between pop metal and the more extreme versions of the genre.

Review

CMJ (p.6) - "[T]he sextet's soaring, uplifting melodies make 'Livin' On A Prayer' sound like a funeral march, and their chops put aging pop-metal axemen out to pasture."
Kerrang (Magazine) (p.48) - "DragonForce set an unmatchable standard, two parts blistering technical intensity, three parts sheer defiance of the laws of physics and all parts cheek-aching happiness."

Title Note

This is an Enhanced CD, which contains both regular audio tracks and multimedia computer files.

Dragonforce: Herman Li, Sam Totman (vocals, guitars, background vocals); ZP Theart (vocals, background vocals); Vadim Pruzhanov (piano, keyboards, background vocals); Dave Mackintosh (drums, background vocals).

Dragonforce's music, once you're familiar with it, is unmistakable; their triumphant, orchestral power-metal--compressed to force every nuance up front--is impossible to ignore. INHUMAN RAMPAGE finds the band continuing their assault on metal audiences, with incredibly technical solos and almost Wagnerian melodic structures. The group also celebrates the pomp of glam rock without falling for its lazy trappings. This is rigorous music, impeccably performed for fans who expect no less.
