Product note

Sparks includes: Ron Mael, Russell Mael.
Additional personnel: Jane Wiedlin (vocals).
A German remaster of the American art group's notable new wave album; features the hits 'Cool Places' and 'Lucky Me, Lucky You' (Both With Jane Wiedlin)', 'All You Ever Think About Is Sex' 'Popularity', 'Prayin For A Party' , 'Dance Godammit' and More.
Fueled by the Top-40 success of "Cool Places," Russell Mael's duet with The Go-Go's' Jane Wiedlin (the Mael brothers returned the favor by co-writing that band's last single, "Yes Or No," with Wiedlin), IN OUTER SPACE quickly became the long-lived band's biggest-ever American hit. In Europe, where the band had been established stars for nearly a decade, the album was even more successful.
In addition to the classic dance-y synth-pop of "Cool Places", IN OUTER SPACE contains some of Russell and Ron Mael's strongest-and strangest-work. Among the highlights are the deadpan club anthem "Dance Godammit" and the single "All You Ever Think About Is Sex," featuring a Pepsi bottle being scraped against concrete as part of its rhythm track. Backing band David Kendricks, Leslie Bohem, and Bob Haag, who recorded on their own as Gleaming Spires, accentuate the rock elements of the band's frothy new wave dance pop and make IN OUTER SPACE one of Sparks' most assertive efforts.
