Conductor Igor Markevitch has been at the helm of a number of important works over the years, and is extensively profiled in this fascinating release. Drawing on a number of televised performances, THE ART OF IGOR MARKEVITCH primarily comes from a series of shows commissioned by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. Although he sadly passed away in 1983, Markevitch left an indelible mark on the classical music world, and his work still resonates throughout the genre to this very day.
