THE ICEBERG proved that Ice-T was more just than a "hardcore" or "gangsta" rapper. An appearance by Jello Biafra (of the punk group the Dead Kennedys) would certainly be out of place on many rap albums, but along with Ice-T's love of punk music and metal, it shows Ice-T's solidarity with another crusader for free speech. THE ICEBERG delves into the politics of power and free speech on "Shut Up, Be Happy" and "Freedom Of Speech," along with the rappers' trademark crime tales.
