Title Note

This is an Enhanced CD, which contains both regular audio tracks and multimedia computer files.

Disney's ICE PRINCESS tells the story of a multi-talented teenage girl (played by Michelle Trachtenberg), at a crossroads, undecided about following her dream of becoming a world-famous ice skater or enrolling in college at Harvard as a budding scientist. Meanwhile, her mom is deaf to the feelings of her young, hopeful daughter. For a movie dominated by females, it's unsurprising that the soundtrack features only one song by a solo male artist (Jesse McCartney). It's also not shocking that the music brims with inspiration, starting with newcomer Caleigh Peters's flowering anthem "Reach."

Like the movie's star, the majority of artists on the ICE PRINCESS album are talented young women set on realizing their ambitions. There are a few (relative) veterans, however--Michelle Branch offers a fetching pop concoction with "You Set Me Free" and Raven Symone brings in a touch of sultriness on "Bump." The real stars of the ICE PRINCESS soundtrack are the lesser-known artists, though, particularly Lucy Woodward, who performs a take of Bjork's jazzy (and skate-routine perfect) hit "It's Oh So Quiet" and movie co-star Hayden Panettiere, who reveals an appealingly sweet voice on the ballad "I Fly."
