Title Note

The Collectables set I Love You: Golden Classics is a brief look at the Volumes' short career on the Chex label during the early '60s. Including about one-third of the group's three-dozen-track career, the set includes their only chart entry, the 1962 Top 40 hit "I Love You," along with fair period material like "Roly Poly," "Miss Silhouette," and "Angel." Most R&B one-hit wonders are best-heard on various-artist compilations, and the Volumes are a perfect example. This one is a cheap disc though, good for the type of fan more intrigued by average material from a certain era than the classics of any other. ~ John Bush
