Unexpectedly, what isn't lacking on Peaches' fifth outing, I FEEL CREAM, is her proclivity towards deeply gynecological lyrics. And while the aging diva thankfully hasn't softened her provocative persona, she has returned to her electro roots after experimenting with a more guitar-driven rock sound on previous albums. On CREAM, Peaches enlists the production talents of such acts as Simian Mobile Disco, Soulwax, and Digitalism, balancing the hard beats with some much-welcomed pop hooks. With each release, the Berlin-based performer exhibits a remarkable staying power missing from many of her contemporaries--and that rare ability to improve with age.
