Product note

The adventurous and ever-surprising label Sub Rosa compiles a sound collage with various innovators and pioneers of modern electronic music on I COULD NEVER MAKE THAT MUSIC AGAIN. Co-written by Jean-Yves Leloup (L-R), and Eric Pajot and Jean-Phillipe Renoult (RadioMentale), this release includes interview samples, cuts, splices, and ambience from Derrick May, Stacey Pullen, Fred Judd, Tom Dissevelt, Steve Reich, The Residents, DJ Shadow, Coldcut, Ryoji Ikeda, Richie Hawtin, Autechre, A Guy Called Gerald, Aphex Twin, Mad Mike, David Toop, Matthew Herbert, Squarepusher, and Fennesz. Not only are their beds of radio-art pieces representative of each artist, but conversations can be heard between some of the artists such as Derrick May and Stacey Pullen responding to an audio letter recorded in 1966 by Fred Judd talking to Tom Dissevelt. An fascinating set for the true experimental electronic historian.
