Title Note

The soundtrack to the sugary Kate Hudson/Matthew McConaughey romantic comedy HOW TO LOSE A GUY IN 10 DAYS bears an eclectic mix of artists. There are plenty of oldies but goodies ranging from Al Green's make-out anthem "Let's Stay Together" and Carly Simon's sassy "You're So Vain" to George Thorogood & The Destroyers' gut-bucket reading of Bo Diddley's "Who Do You Love." There's also more recent pop manna including Sixpence None The Richer's Cranberries-like "Kiss Me" and the Gin Blossom's jangly power-pop jewel "Follow You Down."

Also sprinkled throughout are nifty nuggets like Fisher's trip-hoppish cover of Nat "King" Cole's "L-O-V-E" and a pair of cuts by Canadian pop pianist Chantal Kreviazuk including her soulful interpretation of Randy Newman's "Feels Like Home" (which also appears on the DAWSON'S CREEK soundtrack). Best of all is Luce's "Good Day," a delicious combination of Hi Records-flavored horns, percolating bass, and snappy spoken-sung inflection by frontman Tom Luce that falls somewhere between Elvis Costello and Todd Rundgren.
