Title Note

Although the members of the R&B vocal quartet Electrik Red are a multicultural bunch that hails from New York and Toronto, they are now based in Los Angeles, which provides the perfect backdrop for their slick, pop-oriented product. The women met when they were working as dancers (three of them toured with Usher), and formed Electrik Red as a consequence. And with assistance from producers the Dream and Tricky Stewart, their debut, HOW TO BE A LADY: VOLUME 1, appeared in 2009. Lead single "Drink In My Cup" may have a drowsy, head-nodding beat and hooks reminiscent of Dirty South rap, but smooth groovers like "So Good" are straight urban contemporary.
