Title Note

Even though the world didn't end during Reagan's first term, you'd be hard pressed to get that message through to Broken Bottles. The Orange County punk fundamentalists play the kind of first-wave hardcore made famous by 1980s godfathers like T.S.O.L., Social Distortion, and Agent Orange. HOSPITAL is a tour of vaguely menacing SoCal surf hell, epitomized by downbeat buzzsaw cuts like "Poor Me" and the Cramps-referencing "Psychobilly Girl." If HOSPITAL were just a retro exercise, however, it would get old fast, so it's a good thing Broken Bottles know how to spike their punk workouts with fully hummable pop melodies.
