Though named after the Thelonious Monk composition, the vocal ensemble Straight No Chaser is not a jazz act--instead it specializes in buoyant a cappella harmonies, which are ably displayed on this 2008 holiday album. While the 10-member group from Indiana breezes through Yuletide classics such as "Jingle Bell Rock" and "Silent Night," it also presents the concert performance that made it famous, a lively take on "The 12 Days of Christmas."

I just received my cd and it is January 11, 2009. The sounds coming from these men are addicting, and so beautiful and cleverly mastered. I hope they put out some more cds soon.

Im trying very hard to save this album until after Thanksgiving, but having listened to it 3 times already, Im hooked. amazing harmonies. a great mix of songs. Im betting this will be played at all the Christmas parties this year. its irresistible.
