Product note

On its third full-length album, HIDEOUT, the San Francisco-based indie act Film School veers away from more straightforward alternative-rock sound, opting instead to build on the shoegaze tendencies of its 2006 self-titled outing. With only frontman Krayg Burton and keyboardist Jason Ruck remaining from the earlier line-up, HIDEOUT reveals a band reborn, and intent in picking up where groups such as Ride, Lush, and Pale Saints left off in the early 1990s. Highlights of the record include the urgent "Lectric" and the swirling "Plot and Plans," a track that clearly nods to My Bloody Valentine, and features the breathy vocals of new bassist Lorelei Plotcyzk.

Album Description

Returning with a completely new line with just lead singer and main songwriter Greg Bertens the only original member remaining, this is the third full length album from Film School. Opting for a less pop orientated sound than that of their previous albums, 'Hideout' ups the production values and gives the bands sound a denser feel, while still clearly taking inspiration from the early nineties shoegazing bands such as My Bloody Valentine, Swervedriver and Galaxie 500.
