Kerrang (Magazine) (p.47) - "[I]t has moments of genuine greatness that suggest that the band could one day become a leading force in gothic metal."
Kerrang (Magazine) (p.48) - "[They] built their sweeping, symphonic rock to a pinnacle that was pretty close to magnificent."
Holland's goth metal outfit Within Temptation blend symphonic elements with the heavy grind of classic metal. THE HEART OF EVERYTHING, the group's sixth studio release, has all the large-screen sweep and brain-curving sonics of Within Temptation's previous releases, but comes across with an even stronger sense of purpose. Frontwoman Sharon den Adel sings in full powerhouse mode, while the band rages behind her, yet it's the grandiose arrangements that truly stand out, and--from the single "What Have You Done" to the ballad "Frozen"-- THE HEART OF EVERYTHING has many such moments.
