Title Note

Cobra Verde's 2008 genre-jumper is the perfect follow-up to the band's deranged covers record COPYCAT KILLER. HAVEN'T SLEPT ALL YEAR is a rock record through and through; yet it contains the playful, wry attitude toward rock that made the former album so unexpectedly fun. The pulsing "Freeride" is basically a country stomper by way of industrial Cleveland; "Run Away" sounds like a 21st-century bar band covering a newly unearthed '80s synth-pop gem; while "Riot in the Food Court" is a teenage party anthem that will never be. HAVEN'T SLEPT ALL YEAR isn't a covers records, but its gleeful diversity offers exactly the same sort of good time.
