Led by ex-Songs: Ohia frontman Jason Molina, Magnolia Electric Co. play a brand of country-soaked, working-class rock that runs on melancholy and muscle. This five-song release leads off with "How To Love a Man," the first single from the band's full-length debut, WHAT COMES AFTER THE BLUES. Four other tracks (some produced by Steve Albini), including a cover of Warren Zevon's "Werewolves of London," round out the EP, and provide a tantalizing taste of this group's sweet, reflective brand of indie Americana.
