Title Note

This isn't the end-all and be-all of Halloween-themed albums, but it is kind of charming, mainly for the way it mixes squeaky doors, thunderstorms, howling wind, and other creepy and ghostly sound effects between the musical tracks, and then closes out with several cuts of sinister sound effects. Song-wise, the most intriguing are a pair of sides by the Ghouls, "Dracula's Deuce" and "The Graveyard Shift," which are essentially the same song, although the former is an example of that rare sub-sub-genre of hot rod-horror-surf songs, of which, believe it or not, there are dozens of examples, most of them hailing from the early '60s. Other than that, this is the perfect set for a Halloween party, but it's really more about creaking doors than it is "The Monster Mash."
