The popular TV series about the careers and love lives of a group of telegenic doctors was the source of a chart-topping soundtrack in 2005, and its light synthpop reflected the largely romantic theme of the show. The second volume, released in 2006, takes a slightly more dramatic turn, opening with the Fray's poignant light-rocker "How to Save a Life," and continues with a mix of electronica (Jim Noir, Ursula 1000, Moonbabies), tasteful indie-pop (Gran Bel Fisher, Gomez), and acoustic singer/songwriter fare (KT Tunstall, Anya Marina).
