Each of these four tales was filmed on location in India, Indonesia, Korea, and Japan, using a myriad of visual and performing arts to enhance the storytelling.
The stories are: "The Ramayana," a tale of India's most famous hero; "Korean Masked Dance Drama," a social satire; "Gita Govinda," an interpretation of an Indian erotic poem; and "The Tale of the Genji," based on the well-known Japanese novel of Prince Genji's romantic escapades.
