Review

Kerrang (Magazine) (p.50) - "[T]his thing breathes fire all the way. Adding the spirit of their blues-inspired origins to the hormonal pyrotechnics of their commercial peak..."
Record Collector (magazine) (p.100) - 4 stars out of 5 -- "Coverdale's vocals are pitched over sweet harmonies to good effect on 'Summer Rain,' while 'Got What You Need' ups the fret factor."

Title Note

Initial pressings of GOOD TO BE BAD included a bonus disc containing 7 live tracks and a video.

Recording information: Clear Lake Audio, LA.

Issued more than a decade after Whitesnake's previous studio outing, 2008's GOOD TO BE BAD finds frontman David Coverdale leading a band of new hard-rock recruits. Easily one of the heaviest albums recorded by the blooze-leaning British act, the album benefits from Coverdale's well-weathered vocals and the twin guitar work of Doug Aldrich (Dio) and Reb Beach (Winger, Dokken), as evinced on the fierce opener, "Best Years."

3 out of 5 stars More of the same from whitesnake, May 17, 2008
By todd6138
this album has my favorite lead singer and a sentimental favorite in reb beach, guitarist from winger and dokken. the thing is , there is nothing new done on this disc just the same old ten songs about love and sex with some decent bluesy stuff at the end on trk 9. reb does shine at times, but it doesnt cover up the putrid songwriting overall a fun time record to maybe go cruising in or drinking with the guys, but nothing to compel me to go see the tour. live album sounds pretty good with a decent selection of songs. this cd is definitely worth the price, though.
