This double album retrospective of a broad cross-section of Latin Grammy winner and cancer survivor Soraya's oeuvre reveals a combination of gentle Latin rhythms, folk flavorings, and an acute pop sensibility. Featuring her first hit, "De Repente," as well as its numerous follow-ups, like "En Donde Estas" and "Paris, Cali, Milan," GOLD is a comprehensive and entertaining overview of the sweep of Soraya's career. From the folky, romantic "En Esta Noche," to the later knowing pop of "When Did I Say That?" in which a one-night-stand down is gently dumped, and the gorgeous, traditional-sounding "Tu Amor, Mi Amor," the album displays an artist of extraordinary depth and talent.
