Ginuwine's smooth, R&B-inflected hip-hop is further smoothed out on 2005's BACK II DA BASICS. Unlike some of his previous releases, BACK II DA BASICS favors ballads and bedroom slow jams first and foremost. Pulsing, sultry tunes like "When We Make Love" and "Want U To Be" dominate, but even more uptempo tracks like "Secrets" have a gentle, undulating vibe that insinuates its way into the listener's hips. Ginuwine is in fine voice throughout, and crisp, detail-rich production (from the artist himself) adds luster to this simmering collection of classy, mellow, romantic tracks.

This DualDisc presents the CD version of BACK II DA BASICS on one side and a DVD version with surround-sound mix and bonus video material on the other.
