Product Notes

With their lively vocals and swinging arrangements, Puerto Rican singers Gilberto Santa Rosa and Victor Manuelle co-reign as the premier soneros of salsa music. While the elder Santa Rosa (known as "El Caballero de la Salsa," or "salsa's gentleman") discovered and mentored the younger Manuelle ("El Sonero de la Juventud," aka "the singer of youth"), the two friends never collaborated until the historic concert captured on this release. Recorded live at Puerto Rico's Roberto Clemente Stadium, the performance finds Santa Rosa and Manuelle singing each other's songs for a moving testament to the duo's enduring mentor-protégé relationship.
