Title Note

All music written and conducted by Bernard Herrmann.

One of Bernard Herrmann's earliest scores, the soundtrack to Joseph L. Mankiewicz's 1947 movie THE GHOST & MRS. MUIR is arguably better known than the film itself. With its lush, dreamy orchestral pieces, the album gives listeners a sweeping sense of the fantastic, from the swooning "Prelude" to the whimsical "Bedtime" to the melancholy "Sorrow." This soundtrack is highly recommended for aficionados of Herrmann's dynamic and dramatic compositions, especially as an early example of the genius that he would later fully embody in his work for, among others, Alfred Hitchcock.
