Naked Eyes: Pete Byrne (guitar).

Synth-poppers Naked Eyes had some crucial MTV hits in the 1980s and faded from history after their second album. A post-millennial reunion was planned, but sadly, co-founder Rob Fisher passed away in 1999, making a true reunion impossible. Instead, guitarist Pete Byrne recorded a series of quietly tuneful, introspective folk-pop numbers by the likes of Elvis Costello and Bob Dylan. Byrne's voice has become huskier and more world-weary, but is still melodious, like Richard Thompson's. The album is a poignant homage to the late Fisher and a totally respectable comeback for Byrne.
