Okay, the key things you need to know: 1. This is the BEST Sonny Landreth album so far (considering the beauts hes recorded previously, thats saying a lot). 2. While his friends (Eric Clapton, Mark Knopfler, Robben Ford, Vince Gill, Dr. John, Jimmy Buffett, Nadirah Shakoor, Sam Broussard, and Steve Conn--hey, theyre also all Grammy nominees and/or winners, too!) add plenty of their own fragrant spices to the gumbo, the core flavor is Landreth: boiling blues rock, crisp zydeco riffs, meaty funk, and simmering, sinuous rills. Every song on the menu is exciting in its own way: there are nuances of country and jazz and spacy electronica, along with a ballad to refresh the palate. Its all here, baby--everything you want from the slide master. Youll be lining up for seconds after the first taste!
