Combining the familial pop element of the Corrs with the rural twang of the Dixie Chicks, Shedaisy's Osborn sisters (Kristyn, Kelsi, and Kassidy) unveil another enjoyable set of light country-rock with 2006's FORTUNETELLER'S MELODY. Produced by Sheryl Crow's frequent collaborator John Shanks, the album finds Shedaisy's main songwriter, Kristyn Osborn, co-penning two tracks with Shanks and Crow--the soaring "Whatever It Takes" and the thoughtful "Healing Side"--both of which carry Crow's warm, highly melodic sound. However, given Kristyn's prominent input on the disc (she has a hand in every tune with the exception of the amiable "God Bless the American Housewife"), it's primarily her accessible and dynamic approach that cements this solid, radio-ready outing.
