Personnel: McCoy Tyner (piano); Linda Wood (harp); Hubert Laws (flute, alto flute); Paul Renzi (flute, piccolo); Raymond Dust‚ (oboe); Ron Carter (acoustic bass); Billy Cobham (drum); Guilherme Franco (tambourine).

Arranger: McCoy Tyner.

Jazz pianist McCoy Tyner became a legend for his stint in the iconic John Coltrane Quartet in the early 1960s and he's been a force in jazz ever since. Tyner's style is both lyrical and forceful, almost orchestral in its scope. For this 1976 session, Tyner was recording for the first time with a small studio orchestra, mostly strings and woodwinds, and the results are dazzling. Tyner's original tunes are catchy and engaging, his piano blends well with strings, and there are potent performances from bassist Ron Carter and drummer Billy Cobham.
