Davis Guggenheim's Peabody Award-winning documentary chronicles the lives of five committed young teachers--Maurice Rabb, Joy Kraft, Nate Monley, Georgene Acosta, and Genevieve DeBose--working through their first year of teaching in the tough Los Angeles public school system. Utilizing a small, unobtrusive digital camera and a minimum of equipment, Guggenheim travels inside the classroom to offer an intimate portrait of the teachers and their students as they struggle through the daily triumphs and frustrations of the educational process. Narrated by Elisabeth Shue.
