On FIGHT WITH TOOLS, the Denver, Colorado-based alternative-hip-hop ensemble Flobots offer up an assured set of socially conscious tracks. Fronted by rappers Jonny 5 and Brer Rabbit, the group specializes in thoughtful lyrics and unusual instrumentation, as best revealed on the deft, string-tinged single "Handlebars." Like a fusion of the Def Jux roster and Bonnaroo festival, Flobots excel at both rhymes and jams, making them a unit with considerably wide appeal.
