Face To Face plays quintessential California punk-pop, a genre that arose from hardcore and employs Ramonesian three-chord song structure and harmonized vocals. In the past few years, bands like Green Day, Bad Religion, Jawbreaker, and Screeching Weasel have risen above their skateboarding fan base to bring this once-obscure regional subculture into national prominence.

Somehow, Face To Face has created a meaningful record amid all the hoopla and bidding wars. On FACE TO FACE, the band displays an accessible sound with smooth vocals and background "oooh"s and "aaah"s, proving that it's not afraid of pop. But Face To Face isn't about to give up its punk spikes; it also plays fast and hard, singing lyrics that are at times political and at times emotional (or "emo"). This band seems set to reap the benefits of playing quality songs in an explosive way.
