Title Note

Chilean-German DJ/producer Ricardo Villalobos is the embodiment of the global electronic music culture. A tireless champion of minimal techno and microhouse, his productions display as much affinity for the syncopated polyrhythms of Latin music as for the grinding repetitions of machine-driven beats. For his contribution to the mix-CD series, FABRIC, Villalobos opted to retrofit his own productions, creating a heady, multi-layered cross section of clipped 4/4 rhythms, hypnotic synths, and trippy samples. Drawing upon original material as well as collaborations with Jorge Gonzales, Patrick Ense, and Fumiya Tanaka, FABRIC 36 seeks to bridge the disparate environments of home listening and club hedonism in one continuous, engrossing mix.
