Volume four in the Evidence Blues Sampler series includes one track each from the label's 16 blues releases over a short six-month period during late 1994 and early 1995. The quality's still relatively high though, thanks to good selection and an ear for songs that work well together. Highlights include Willie Mabon's "Little Red Rooster" from 1979's Chicago Blues Session!; Big Bill Broonzy's rollicking "Goin' to Chicago" (recorded live in Antwerp in 1952); and an all-star version of "My Babe" from 1964, featuring Hubert Sumlin, Willie Dixon, and Sunnyland Slim. ~ John Bush
