Inspired by the tragic death of the great Polish actor Zbigniew Cybulski, this Andrzej Wajda classic focuses on the behind-the-scenes lives of a director and his actors when they are disrupted by the mysterious murder of their leading man. It is, in Director Wajda's words,"A story about the people who make films – the directors and the actors." Film fiction mixes with reality as some of the actors play themselves. Everything For Sale can also be viewed as a glimpse into the way in which Wajda deals with his past and with his friendship with Cybulski.

Acclaimed filmmaker Andrzej Wajda uses his experiences to create a film about the people who make them in this long neglected gem from the Polish master. This behind the scenes drama focuses on the cast and crew of a film production that must rebound after the death of the film's leading man. Intensely personal, Wajda created the film as an homage to deceased Polish actor Zbigniew Cybulski. A blurred line of fiction and reality also lends the film a playfully artificial quality, with many in the cast playing themselves.
