Though Blondie was part of the initial crop of bands to emerge from New York's CBGB's, they made it big in the UK before achieving worldwide success. This compilation draws its title from one of the band's early British hits, an infectious homage to the girl-group sounds of the early '60s.

DENIS does a nice job of moving through the various stages of this incredibly eclectic band's career. From the Jamaican lilt of "The Tide is High" and "Die Young, Stay Pretty" to the '50s crooning of "In the Flesh" and the straight-ahead rock of "Hanging on the Telephone," all the facets of Blondie's talents are represented here. Novices should be alerted that this is not a greatest-hits package. Many of the songs are obscure denizens of the Blondie repertoire, but that just means you get to hear another side of the band and explore the breadth of their wide-eyed vision in a bit more depth.
