Compilation producers: Patrick Edmonds, Raymond Castoldi.
The JOCK JAMS and JOCK ROCK series are overseen by Raymond Castoldi, who happens to be the music director at a little joint known as Madison Square Garden. The influence shows; he tends to put as many get-the-crowd-up-outta-their-seats-and-dancing-in-the-aisle jams on one disc as possible. The accent on JOCK JAMS is on high-energy dance music. Highlights on VOLUME 2 include The Bucketheads' strangely compelling techno-mantra "The Bomb," as well as--of course--the omnipresent "Macarena" (performed here by Los Del Mar).
Reel to Reel's fast, funky "I Like to Move It" is also here, as is Atlanta femme duo Dis `N' Dat's surefire butt-shaker "Party." Some old favorites make the cut, too, including the Village People's "Macho Man" and the always-fresh, perennially funky "Get Down Tonight" courtesy of (as if you didn't know) KC & the Sunshine Band.
