Title Note

Alla, a young, versatile Chicago trio with a knack for reproducing the lush textures and ambitious arrangements of classic Brazilian tropicalia, has crafted a surprisingly mature and accomplished debut with ES TIEMPO. Though the instrumental backgrounds have been stitched together in the studio by siblings Jorge and Angel Ledemza, ES TIEMPO has a warm and organic feel that adds a dose of unpredictability to the group's mixing-board aesthetic. Chanteuse Lupe Martinez sings with a grace and assurance learned from Brazilian divas like Gal Costa and Susana Baca, bringing an added majesty to the Ledemza brothers' gently psychedelic arrangements.
