Though virtually unknown in much of English-speaking America, Mana is one of the most popular Rock en Espanol groups in the world, regularly selling millions of albums and filling concert stadiums to capacity. ECLIPSE is the band's long-overdue greatest hits album, which collects over a decade's worth of Mana's best songs and adds one newly recorded track to the group's legacy.

Often called "the Latin Police," because of the group's use of reggae rhythms, sparse production, and singer Fher's uncanny vocal resemblance to Sting, Mana also incorporates elements of INXS, Joe Jackson, and other new wave pioneers into its distinctly 1980s-influenced international stew. Though a quick listen to this disc reveals that the Mexican band's sound has evolved little over the years, this consistency (along with the group's refusal to sing in English and dedication to social causes) is exactly what inspires a rabid loyalty among Mana fans. In addition, the group has a way with catchy melodies and sing-along choruses that rivals any of its influences, and virtually guarantees that this collection will appeal to the long-time Latin rock faithful and curious neophytes alike.
