Still best known for the 1983 new-traditionalist honky-tonk classic "Swingin'," John Anderson kept a low profile for years prior to his effective 2007 comeback EASY MONEY. Produced and largely written by Big and Rich's John Rich, an obvious Anderson disciple, EASY MONEY is Anderson's strongest, funniest, and most tuneful album in years. Highlights include the swell title track, the sly "A Woman Knows," and the country-rock stomp "Funky Country." Willie Nelson guests on the tributary "Willie's Guitar," and amidst the giggles sits a pair of weepy ballads, "Bonnie Blue" and "I Can't Make Her Cry Anymore," that are among Anderson's best.
