Pianist Eri Yamamoto has long been admired for her versatility and her melodic sensibility. Both skills are in ample evidence on DUOLOGUE, which pairs Yamamoto with a number of artists for a series of eight duets. Drummers Fredrico Ughi and Hamid Drake, saxophonist Daniel Carter, and bassist William Parker are on hand to help Yamamoto create musical conversations that are bright, sprightly, and always creative. DUOLOGUE isn't particularly "outside," but it is creative and energized enough to appeal to fans of avant jazz, as well as followers of more traditional sounds
