The one exception is a pre-BMSR 1999 cut called "I Saw Brown" that shows them toying with a techno-folk hybrid best described as Beck meets Kraftwerk. But the remainder of the collection is all eerily lush synths filtered through a stoner rock sensibility, with a nod to their odder instincts via evocative song titles like "Black Yogurt" and "Milk States." The latter is the EP's finest musical moment, with a robotically seductive vocal and steady 4/4 beat that lends a hypnotic humanity to their otherwise alien-sounding compositions.
