Review

Dirty Linen (p.83) - "There are new songs and old favorites refreshingly redone....Dave Malone has contributed some fine guitar work and new songs..."

Title Note

The Radiators (US): Dave Malone (vocals, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, baritone guitar, E-bow, banjo); Ed Volker (vocals, keyboards); Camile Baudoin (guitar); Reggie Scanlan (bass instrument); Frank Bua Jr. (drums).

Additional personnel: Darcy Malone, Susan Cowsill (vocals); Tim Green (tenor saxophone); Mike Skinkus (percussion).

Recorded in 2006 in the band's still shattered home town of New Orleans, the Radiators' good-natured mix of bar-band rock and R&B is colored by stark reminders of the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Though songs like the title track and "Don't Pray For Me" were written some years before the hurricane, the collection's overall feel is one of loss and regret--tempered, of course, by the band's unimpeachable swing on cuts like "Desdemona" and the optimistic "Good Things."
