East Oakland underground vet G-Stack throws it up for his hometown over 21 gangsta tracks on DR. PURPLE THUMB. Constantly referencing his hood's signature color (inspired by the potent herb of the same tone), G-Stack introduces a cheeky alter ego, the satirical super-hero Purple Mane, as he spins alternately comedic and aggressive ghetto narratives. G-Stack clowns DJ Khaled and a handful of Dirty South artists on "DJ Salad," turns sensitive for the hood love song "Me N My Chick," and teams up with fellow Bay Area artists on posse cuts "Talk of the Town" and "Gettin' It."
