Title Note

Grails is one of the more consistent and assured bands to emerge out of the Pacific Northwest's fertile drone metal scene. Their second album for Temporary Residence is a slab of dark, exploratory heaviness as black and imposing as 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY's monoliths. A Middle Eastern influence is the most immediately noticeable element, but DOOMSDAYER'S HOLIDAY also pinches from psychedelic and proggy Scotch folksters like the Incredible String Band. The awesome "Acid Rain" even cribs from '70s "poliziotteschi" soundtracks.
