This timely reissue of hip-hop pioneer Doug E. Fresh's 1992 album wears well, with its old-school sound and vintage beats very much in effect from the first strains of "Bustin' Out (On Funk)" and "The Get Fresh Crew." Fresh brings his human beatbox skills to "Back in the Days," adding some skilful ragga rapping to the mix in "The Money Grip," while the free-and-easy party atmosphere of "You Make Me Wanna Shout" recalls the rapper's '80s roots in freewheeling numbers like his biggest hit, "The Show."
