North Carolinan singer/songwriter Jimmy Wayne transcended a turbulent, traumatic youth to become first a prison guard and then a country hitmaker. His self-titled 2003 debut album for DreamWorks generated four country hits. When the label shut its doors, Wayne wound up in a music-biz shuffle that translated into a five-year wait for the follow-up, DO YOU BELIEVE ME NOW, released on Big Machine/Valory in '08. He hadn't lost his touch in the interim, though--the title track earned Wayne his first country Number One.
