Beautiful Soulful Music!
by heather118 - July 5, 2009
Diane Birchs voice is wonderful! I received this cd to review and loved to
listen to this over and over again! Dianes voice reminds me of Janis Joplin and
Joss Stone. Easy to listen to and a joy! I recommend this to all!

Wonderful New Artist
by Shalynne - June 21, 2009
This cd surprised me as much as anything. I found myself listening to a great
throwback cd that still was completely original. Diane has that great bluesy
rock sound of the 70s and yet she still cant be pigeon-holed into that category.
She is a sound all her own and its a refreshing change from the top 40 on the
radio all the time. Take a chance on Diane Birch.

Relaxing and Soothing Music
by Angel205 - June 20, 2009
I didnt know what to expect from this new artist, Diane Birch. I had never heard
of her before and was not a big fan of this type music. It seems to have a
little of a gospel, soul, R&B, and classic rock sound. However, after the first
song I was hooked.

Diane Birch’s - Bible Belt album, opens with one of my
favorites, "Fire Escape” It is a soulful song, about loss and love. It will open
your mind for what’s to come on the rest of the album. Diane seduces you with
the lyrics and slowly entices you with the melodies. Her voice is relaxing.
"Bible Belt" was recorded in New York City and New Orleans with the same
producers who collaborated on Joss Stones first albums. Her music speaks volumes
about heartbreak, love, and loss. “Rise Up”, is another inspiring song that
carries and upbeat tempo that soon has you feeling uplifted even through the
tears.

As I was growing up, I listened to a lot of Carol King, which Diane
reminds me a lot of. She has been compared to a whole host of musicians, but
really does have her own sound.

Overall, the Diane Birch’s Bible Belt has
the right balance of songs with the right balance of themes love, pain,
heartache. I recommend this album for all ages. It is a must to add to your
music collection.

Amazing!

Wow,this woman has talent. She reminds me of a mix between Janis Joplin and
Carole King. You dont have to be a jazz fan to appreciate her music.

Birch Belts it in Bible Belt
by wiesegreeley - June 19, 2009
Diane Birch is an outstanding new artist. Just 21 years old, you would never
know it by listening to her. Her voice offers the listener a professional
quality that would normally not be there with someone so young. She pushes the
limits in just the right places and never sounds like she is trying. It seems
natural and authentic. The lyrics written by her seem to fit her style, as well,
as sweep the listener away. Loved the cd and cant wait to hear more from her.

If you like music from department stores...
by Kristy - June 19, 2009
This album reminds me of something you would hear shopping at Macys. Which could
be a bad thing or a good thing. Its upbeat, catchy, and by the name of the
album, you can guess what the record is mostly about. There are parts I thought
her singing could be better. And a few songs reminded me of other songs from the
80s.

Soulful Sound
by Lacibird - June 16, 2009
This is one of the most interesting CDs I have listened to in a long time. Her
voice is so soulful and bluesy...at times I felt like I was listening to Carol
King.

Hallelujah!
by DebraP - June 15, 2009
As I listened to her cd, so many of my favorite women singers came to mind: The
Indigo Girls, The Dixie Chicks, Aretha Franklin, Joss Stone, KT Tunstall, Adele,
Laura Nyro, Ricki Lee Jones, even Janis Joplin and Billie Holiday.
I truly
questioned how someone could remind me of all these stellar women and yet be
completely her own person, yet that is the paradox and the joy of Diane Birch.
Now, imagine taking blues, classic rock, du wop, and combining them with jazz
and gospel and youll have a hint of what Dianes music is about.

OLD SOULD
by oodles4u - June 12, 2009
Diane Birch sounds like an old favorite, with all the sparkle and magic of a
breakthrough talent. People says she sounds like a combination of early Carole
King, Linda Ronstadt and Stevie Nicks, with a little Joss Stone and Cat Power
mixed in. Bible Belt is only her first record, but it’s one of the most
accomplished albums you’ll hear all year. From the opening track "Fire Escape"
to the closing “Magic View,” Diane’s stunning voice is mesmerizing.

Written
entirely by Diane, Bible Belt was recorded in New York City and New Orleans with
an impressive team of Grammy-winning producers: S-Curve Records founder Steve
Greenberg, soul legend Betty Wright and Mike Mangini, in their first project
together since producing Joss Stone’s first albums.

Wow
by Animalgal - June 12, 2009
This is her first CD but you cannot tell. To me, she sounds like an old
favorite! Diane wrote the music herself, and she writes like a pro. The music
is very relatable and some of the songs are haunting. Her music stays with you
for a long time, but in a good way! There are several ways to describe her
music-smooth, soulful, easy listening, raw, stripped, earthy, simple, and
unique. You can really feel her energy, and feel what she was thinking when she
wrote her lyrics. Among other things, this CD would be perfect for a day at the
beach with a good book. My favorite song is Ariel-it just stays with me! Her
sound is similar to Carly Simon, but a modern version. I foresee a long and
successful music career for Diane!
