I have to disagree with the previous reviewer, the book wasnt a total waste.
While I do agree that the ending lacked a good fight scene, I do think the rest
of the book up until that point was a really good read. Sure, there are some
implausible elements, but really, are vampires really that plausible to begin
with? The book, like Twilight, New Moon and Eclipse does call for a suspension
of disbelief, but it isnt completely far-fetched because it focuses above all,
on the power of love.
Yes, there were downsides, mostly centering around
the fact that some of the scenes seemed like an elaborate fanfic, and the fade
to black on every sex scene, but all in all, I didnt hate it!
And just to
defend SMeyer for a second, I dont think the book could have ended any other
way. I mean, had they fought the Volturi, they would have all died. Every last
one of them. And I guarantee you, that would have been a worse ending.
Would I buy it again? Absolutely. Its a good ending. I cant wait for Edwards
perspective!
